For the first time after the formation of Haryana, government departments have been merged on a large scale. 19 departments have been merged to make eight. It has been agreed to abolish the Department of Electronics and Information Technology.
Possible in the month of December or January. The final approval for the merger of the departments will be given by the Haryana cabinet. Its proposal can also be brought in the meeting to be held on Thursday. On November 21, a high-level meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Manohar Lal regarding the merger of the departments.
The government has taken this decision to further increase the efficiency of the government departments. After the approval of the cabinet, the government will also bring an amendment bill in the assembly to give them constitutional status. Since there has to be a change in various allotment rules of the Haryana Govt. The minister and administrative secretary of the merged departments will be the same. Directorates will continue to function as before, and the cadre of employees will also not be merged.

After the abolition of the Electronics and Information and Industrialization Department, the work of Information and Technology will be looked after by the Industries Department. E-governance will come under IT project credit. Hartron will function as before but will come under the Department of Industries.
