Amidst the ongoing fight between Punjab and Haryana over Chandigarh, Rajya Sabha MP and Aam Aadmi Party’s Haryana in-charge Sushil Gupta has said that the central government should divide Chandigarh into two parts.
Aam Aadmi Party’s Haryana in-charge Sushil Gupta has said that the central government should divide Chandigarh into two parts. He gave the formula to pay Rs 20,000 crore to the two governments to make them separate capitals.
According to a report in The Tribune, Gupta said, “What do we gain by passing a resolution only to criticize and offer no solution? Instead of calling a special session and doing nothing, the state government should go to the centre and ask for its authority. They should ask for half of Chandigarh and Rs 20,000 crore.”
Gupta was in the city to preside over the party’s South Zone workers meeting today. He said that the party would also come to power in Haryana. Gupta said that in 2025, both Haryana and Punjab will have the government of AAP. He also said that both Rajdhani and SYL issues will be resolved.
