The recent arrest or surrender of pro-Khalistan leader Amritpal Singh has been a topic of conflicting versions, with the Punjab Police claiming that he was arrested from Rode village in Moga, while villagers and those accompanying him asserting that he surrendered.

Punjab Police inspector general of police (headquarters) Sukhchain Singh Gill stated that Amritpal Singh was arrested after being traced through credible information and that the police did not enter the gurdwara to maintain its sanctity. He added that Amritpal Singh came out of the gurdwara and was arrested when he had no other option.
The conflicting versions of whether Amritpal Singh was arrested or surrendered continue to be a topic of debate and speculation. While the police claim that he was arrested, videos and witnesses suggest that he voluntarily surrendered.
