Haryana BJP has started preparations for the Panchayati elections. State BJP has appointed district in-charges in all 22 districts, while Education Minister Kanwar Pal Gurjar has been made the state in charge of the elections. This appointment has been made on the instructions of BJP State President Omprakash Dhankhar.
Other members of the election management committee, state vice-president and MLA Mahipal Dhanda, MP DP Vats, former MLA Ravindra Balian, Shamsher Kharkada, former Zilla Parishad chairman Kalyan Singh, Rajesh Kumar have been included.
The way the party has appointed state and district in charge, it is clear that like the municipal body, the BJP will fight the panchayat elections on the party symbol.
