A group of farmers from Haryana and Punjab forcefully breached police barricades on Monday to join a protest by wrestlers at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. The wrestlers have been demanding action against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, the chief of the Wrestling Federation of India, who has been accused of sexual harassment.
The farmers had extended their support to the wrestlers and issued a 15-day ultimatum on Sunday for action to be taken against Singh. Prominent Indian wrestlers, including Olympic and World Championship medalists, have been staging a protest at Jantar Mantar since April 23.
