Earlier on April 1, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann had issued a resolution on Chandigarh during a one-day special session of the Punjab Legislative Assembly. It was passed unanimously.

Punjab and Haryana governments are face to face with Chandigarh. After Punjab, now Haryana has also started preparing to assert its right over Chandigarh. In this regard, a meeting was held at the residence of Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday. It has been considered in the meeting to convene a special session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha on April 5.


Chandigarh is the joint capital of Punjab and Haryana. The Punjab government’s resolution said, “Punjab was reorganized through the Punjab Reorganization Act, 1966, in which the State of Punjab was reorganized into the State of Haryana, the Union Territory of Chandigarh and parts of Punjab to the erstwhile Union Territory of Himachal Pradesh.” Given.’
