362 Congress Candidates Apply for Lok Sabha Elections in Haryana

As the 2024 Lok Sabha elections draw near, both the ruling and opposition parties are intensifying their preparations. In light of this, 362 candidates from the Haryana Congress have applied to contest the Lok Sabha elections.

Approximately 37 applications have been received for each seat, while there are only 10 seats available in total. According to mathematical calculations, there are around 37 applications per seat.

In the future, the biggest challenge for the Congress will be to select the right candidates for each seat to ensure a strong contest against the BJP or opposition candidates.

Notably, many stalwarts of the Congress are not included in these applications. Renowned senior Congress leaders such as Kumari Shailja, Randeep Singh Surjewala, and Kiran Choudhary, who are famous in Haryana’s political landscape, have opted out of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has also expressed his desire not to contest the Lok Sabha elections. This time, these Congress veterans are staying away from the elections. Let’s discuss the possible reasons behind this decision.
