Police of 3 districts found control after 4 hours of Haryana Palwal violence over ‘Agneepath’

The police, who reached from three districts in Palwal, Haryana, against the Center’s Agneepath plan, have currently controlled. National Highway-19 was freed from the possession of miscreants around 2.45 pm.

For this, the police had to fire tear gas shells along with aerial firing. The agitated youth had earlier torched 5 police vehicles here. Stones were pelted at DC residence. The national highway was jammed for about four hours.

It took three hours to control the riot which started around 11.30 pm in Palwal and besides Palwal, a heavy police force had to be called from Faridabad and Mewat. About a dozen police personnel were injured. 30-35 youths have also been detained by the police. Police are now taking out a march past in Palwal. Earlier, the supermarket near the incident site was also closed.

Such angry youth

Hundreds of youths gathered near the rest house in Palwal around 10:30 to protest against the Agneepath scheme. After some time some more youth reached here and after this the national highway was blocked. When the police team reached the spot and tried to remove the youth from the road, the youth started pelting stones at the DC residence. The police also swung into action and fired tear gas shells with aerial fire. Enraged youths set the police vehicles on fire. Here five vehicles were burnt one after the other. Several other vehicles and the media center were vandalized.

Youth committed suicide in Rohtak

Apart from Palwal, youth created a ruckus in Rewari in protest against Agneepath. Here the police had to lathi-charge the youth. At the same time, Sachin, a resident of Lijwana of Jind district in Rohtak’s Dev Colony, committed suicide by hanging himself, he was preparing for recruitment in the army. According to his family members, he was deeply traumatized by the Agneepath scheme of recruitment in the army and committed suicide.
