The much-awaited Panchayat elections in Haryana have been announced. In the first phase, elections will be held in 10 districts of the state. The election dates for the remaining 12 districts will be announced later. With the announcement of Panchayat elections, the Code of Conduct came into force in rural areas of 10 districts.
The 10 districts where panchayat elections will be held in the first phase include Bhiwani, Fatehabad, Jhajjar, Jind, Kaithal, Mahendragarh, Nuh, Panchkula, Panipat and Yamunanagar. The nominations in these districts will start from October 14 and will continue till October 19. Scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on October 20. Nominations can be withdrawn till October 21 afternoon.
Voting for Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samitis in these 10 districts will be held on October 30. Voting for sarpanch-panches will be held on November 2. Counting for sarpanch-panches will start as soon as the polling is over. Whereas the counting of votes of Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samitis will be done together after the elections are over in the rest of the districts of the state.
Hisar, Rohtak, Ambala, Rewari, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Sonipat, Palwal, Sirsa, Charkhi-Dadri, Gurugram and Faridabad are among the 12 districts in the state where panchayat elections will be held later.
