In a significant move, Haryana’s Home and Health Minister, Anil Vij, led efforts to officially rename the historic village ‘Panjokhra’ in Ambala Cantt to ‘Panjokhra Sahib.’ The central government had granted permission, and on Tuesday, the Haryana government issued the official notification.
Minister Anil Vij played a crucial role in developing villages, including Panjokhra Sahib, with several successful projects and substantial investments. The village is home to the historic Gurudwara Panjokhra Sahib, dedicated to the eighth Sikh Guru, Guru Har Kishan Sahib Maharaj, attracting devotees locally and internationally.
Due to its religious significance, Minister Anil Vij advocated for renaming the village to Panjokhra Sahib, a move now formalized by the Haryana government. The renaming is expected to enhance the village’s cultural and spiritual identity, attracting more visitors seeking spiritual solace.
This decision reflects the government’s commitment to preserving Haryana’s cultural and historical heritage, ensuring these sacred sites hold a special place in people’s hearts.
