    Haryana Secures Gold at 52nd Senior National Men’s Handball Championship

    Sher-i Kashmir Indoor Stadium witnessed a thrilling showdown at the 52nd Senior National Men’s Handball Championship, where Haryana emerged victorious, clinching the coveted gold medal. In a fiercely contested final, Haryana outperformed Railways, cementing their dominance in the world of handball.

    The championship, jointly organized by the J&K Sports Council and J&K Handball Association, in collaboration with the Handball Association of India, featured a whopping 32 teams, showcasing the depth of talent and enthusiasm for the sport in the country.

    The closing ceremony of the 52nd Senior National Men’s Handball Championship was graced by Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta, Chief Secretary of J&K, who presided over the event as the chief guest. Dr. Mehta commended the growing sports culture in the union territory and urged society to prioritize the health and integrity of this culture over other temptations, such as drugs.     Sarmad Hafeez, the Secretary of Youth Services and Sports in Jammu & Kashmir, highlighted the government’s commitment to promoting sports. He revealed that 60 stadiums in the region have been equipped with lighting systems, enabling round-the-clock sports activities. This investment in state-of-the-art facilities reflects the government’s dedication to meeting athletes’ needs and supporting their training, competition, and pursuit of greatness.

    Nuzhat Gull, the Secretary of Sports Council, expressed pride in organizing national championships that showcase the finest athletic talents from across India.
