According to officials, the migrant labourers entering the city will have to stay in quarantine for seven days.

In the orders issued by Kangra Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Kumar Prajapati, Holi gatherings have been banned as well.

Under Section 34 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, the deputy commissioner imposed additional safety protocols of Covid-19 for immediate prevention of threat to life.

All forms of congregations have been completely prohibited in the district. The exceptions are marriages, funerals and election process within the jurisdiction of the municipal corporations of Dharamshala and Palampur.

Marriages, funerals, and election gatherings are subject to strict compliance with the conditions of the gathering, the order said, adding that marriage organisers will have to obtain permission for the event through registration on an online portal.

For the ongoing Municipal Corporation elections of Dharamshala and Palampur, Covid-19 tests have been made mandatory for all contesting candidates and the supporters accompanying them. A negative report is mandatory before door-to door canvassing.
