Finally, there is a film arriving in theatres which is actually carrying the kind of vibes that promises a good opening at the box office. After Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, JugJugg Jeeyo is the first family entertainer to be hitting the screens, and it actually has a wholesome appeal to it. The vibes are solid that this one will reach out to one and all, and that’s what makes one confident around the opening that it is set to get.
The cast of the film Is just right as well. While Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani cater to the younger segment of the audiences, veterans Anil Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor make the film further reachable to a couple of generations before that as well. Moreover, director Raj Mehta has already proved his mettle with another family entertainer with a huge cast, Good Newwz, and with JugJug Jeeyo he seems to have made an even more accessible film.
Karan Johar has left no stones unturned to make this a true summer entertainer and there has been no stone left unturned when it comes to the marketing and promotion. In fact had this been a pre-pandemic release then an opening day number of Rs. 15-20 crores was guaranteed. However these are different times and hence one has to be a bit conservative when it comes to predicting first day numbers. By the look of things, a double digit score is on the cards and as long as Rs. 10 crores come in on Friday, it would be game on.
