Union Minister Anurag Thakur held a detailed discussion in the coordination committee meeting regarding the organization of Khelo India Youth Games 2021 through VC. State Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Sandeep Singh was also present in the meeting. Sports Department Director Pankaj Nain informed about the preparations for organizing Khelo India Youth Games in detail through a presentation.
Khelo India Youth Games 2021 will be organized in Haryana from 4 to 13 June 2022. Chief Minister Manohar Lal said that these include 5 Indian sports in 25 U-18 sports. In which Gatka, Yogasana, Thang-ta, Malkhambha, Kalripaytu these games will be organized in Panchkula besides Shahbad, Ambala, and Chandigarh and Delhi. Around 8500 players from across the country will participate in the sports competitions.
Better infrastructure ready for sports:
The Chief Minister said that on May 8, the musket and logo of the Khelo India Youth Games would be launched at Indradhanush Auditorium in Panchkula. For this, extensive preparations have been completed. For the Games, 2-3 multipurpose halls, synthetic track, and athletic track have been constructed. The first games were to be held in February but were postponed due to Corona.
The work of the auditorium in Badminton Hall, Government Women’s College, Sector-14, Panchkula has been completed. The construction work of Hockey Stadium Panchkula and Shahbad has also been almost completed. An all-weather swimming pool is ready in Ambala. Taking forward the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in sports, complete arrangements for cleanliness will be made. The entire team of cleaning systems will be deployed.
Promotional event on 13th May:
The Chief Minister said that cultural programs full of Haryanvi clutches would be organized in sports and during the Amrit Mahotsav of freedom, the story of innumerable heroes of the freedom struggle and the introduction of outstanding sportspersons of the state would be presented in the exhibition so that the young generation could take inspiration from them. A promotional event will also be organized in Gurugram on May 13 for the games.
The focus will be on the theme dedicated to daughters:
Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur said that commendable work has been done in the direction of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao in Haryana. Women players of the state have also hoisted the flag in every game organized abroad. To increase the interest of the students in sports, the focus will be on the theme dedicated to sports.
