Udaybhan has been made the new President of the Haryana Congress and along with four working presidents have also been elected. Udaybhan is an old warrior of Haryana politics and has been fighting himself in the assembly field since 1987. During his political journey, he has reached the assembly four times from Hasanpur and Hodal seats in the Palwal district. Initially became MLA from Lok Dal in the year 1987, after that decided to contest as an independent in 2000 legislative election and won. With the passage of time, Udaybhan joined the Congress and contested the elections, winning the party in 2005 and 2014.
Udaybhan is said to be close to former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda. At the same time, the high command did not want to take the risk of angering the Dalit community. Hence the name Udaybhan was chosen. Udaybhan’s identity is due to his father Gayalal. In fact, Gayalal has also been in the role of MLA and in Haryana politics, Gayalal’s name is taken as a symbol of defection. He holds the record for changing the number of parties in a day.
On the other hand, if we talk about Shruti Chaudhary, then she is the granddaughter of former Chief Minister Bansilal and her father Surendra Singh has also been a minister. Along with this, his mother Kiran Chaudhary has also been a minister and is now in the role of MLA. Shruti Chaudhary was elected MP from Bhiwani Lok Sabha in the year 2009 during her political journey. In this seat, his grandfather Chaudhary Bansilal had also been MP three times, while father Surendra Singh had also won from this seat twice and became an MP. However, once Shruti Chaudhary became an MP, she could not save this seat for herself. At present, her mother Kiran Chaudhary has played an important role in making Shruti Chaudhary the Congress Working President. While Shruti Chaudhary may have inherited politics, the politics of Haryana does not resonate with her name much.
The name of Ramkishan Gurjar is also included in the new team of Haryana Congress, who has been MLA from Narayangarh Assembly Constituency. Along with this, he has also been the Chief Secretary in the Congress government. Along with politics, Ramkishan Gurjar’s name is also on the criminal record. In fact, in the case of abetment to suicide, he was sentenced to 4 years in Ambala Court. Ramkishan then fielded his wife Shaili Choudhary in the fray for the assembly elections and currently, his wife is an MLA. It is said that Ramkishan Gurjar Kumari is one of Selja’s most trusted companions and Selja has recommended her name.
At the same time, Jitendra Kumar Bhardwaj has also been elected as working president of Haryana Congress. There are many important reasons behind this. Actually, Jitendra’s grandfather and father have been the President of Block Congress, along with he himself was also Gurgaon District Rural President and State Spokesperson. Jitendra Bhardwaj has been elected working president because of his close ties with Hooda. However, he has not had much clout in the politics of Haryana. But the party has reposed a lot of faith in him.
If we talk about Suresh Gupta, then he is identified as Suresh Gupta Matlauda and Suresh is close to Randeep Singh Surjewala. Due to which it is suspected that Surjewala is behind making Suresh Gupta the working president. Suresh Gupta’s name was heard more in Haryana politics when he started a movement in 2013 against Hooda government and his own party’s Karnal MLA Sumita Singh. In the year 2014, Suresh Gupta contested from Karnal seat as an independent candidate but was defeated by a huge margin.
