The rumors originated from a photoshopped picture shared on Facebook on June 12, which misleadingly depicted Sania in red wedding attire from her 2010 marriage to Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik, with Shami’s face digitally inserted over Shoaib’s.
Sania Mirza, who recently appeared on “The Great Indian Kapil Show,” expressed her desire to find a new love interest. During the show, she humorously remarked that she would consider acting in her biopic if Bollywood superstars Shah Rukh Khan or Akshay Kumar played her love interest.
In her latest Instagram post, Sania shared her reflections as she embarked on a Hajj pilgrimage in June. She described the journey as an opportunity for redemption and spiritual renewal, hoping to return as a better human being with a humble heart and stronger faith. She wrote, “Dear friends and loved ones, I have been blessed with the incredible opportunity to embark on the sacred journey of Hajj.

Sania’s post also revealed that she had unilaterally divorced Shoaib Malik through ‘khula,’ a right in Islamic law allowing a woman to divorce her husband. This clarification comes amid rumors of Shoaib’s impending second marriage to Sana, following which Sania shared a cryptic Instagram story about the challenges of marriage and divorce.
On the other hand, Mohammed Shami, who married Hasin Jahan in 2014 and separated in 2018 following allegations of domestic violence and adultery, recently shared a workout video on Instagram with the caption, “Every day is another chance to get stronger.”
