Amid speculations over the mysterious death of Sonali Phogat, the latest update stated that expensive furniture and costly cars parked at the BJP leader’s house are missing. The information came after the Goa Police, who are probing her death, said that the murder accused and Phogat’s aide Sudhir Sangwan had eyed her property and wealth.
In a statement, Goa Police implied that Sangwan was not only keen on acquiring her property but also wanted to grab her farmhouse on a 20-year lease.
The complaint about missing movable properties stated that Sonali Phogat possessed three vehicles, including a Mahindra Scorpio, which are missing currently. On the other hand, her farmhouse’s worth is nearly Rs 110 crore, including the cost of the plot.
Sources said that Sonali Phogat’s PA Sangwan wanted to take Sonali’s farmhouse on a lease for 20 years at all costs. In lieu of the farmhouse, Sangwan wanted a deal wherein he paid only Rs 60,000 annually for the property.
The update came after Sangwan, after being arrested, confessed to having mixed Sonali Phogat’s drinks in Goa. He confessed to the police that he had adulterated her drinks with drugs and forced her to consume them.
Following Phogat’s post-mortem report which revealed blunt injuries, Goa Police reached Hisar to carry out a probe and they revealed that her diary had been found. The diary contained contacts of various politicians, leaders and party workers. The diary has been taken into possession by officials and Phogat’s locker has been sealed by Goa Police.
Earlier, a probe revealed that Phogat and Sangwan left for Delhi airport for Goa from Gurgaon Greens, Sector- 102 in Gurugram. Sangwan, in police custody, mentioned residing in the apartment with his wife. However, the rent agreement highlighted Sonali Phogat’s name as Sangwan’s wife’s name in the document.
