Two local Haryanvi artists from Satrod Khurd in Hisar have reportedly been duped of nearly ₹25 lakh in a fraudulent scheme involving a future maker company and promises of land ownership. The Sadar Police Station has registered a case against the accused individuals named Pradeep, Suman, Pushpesh, Satish, and Surendra.
The complaint filed with the Sadar Police Station reveals that Kapil, along with his brother Sumit, both Haryanvi folk singers, were targeted in this elaborate scam. One of the accused, Pradeep, is also associated with the folk music scene. Pradeep, known to Kapil for around 14 years, proposed an investment opportunity to Sumit in 2018, claiming that he could help secure work for him.
As per Pradeep’s proposal, an investment would be required in a future maker company. Sumit deposited an initial sum of ₹4 lakh as instructed. Some time later, Pradeep introduced Kapil to Pushpesh, the Managing Director of Gopethi Swadeshi Udyog Pvt. Ltd. During the meeting, Pradeep mentioned a 71-acre land plot on the Rajgarh Road, emphasizing the potential for high returns on investment.
Convinced by the prospect, Kapil and Sumit collectively deposited over ₹20 lakh to secure their investment in the land venture. However, as the subsequent days passed, the accused failed to return the promised amount to the artists. Realizing they had been deceived, Kapil and Sumit approached the Sadar Police Station to file an official complaint.
The police are currently conducting a thorough investigation into the matter, seeking to apprehend the accused individuals and recover the funds that were swindled. The case highlights the importance of due diligence and caution when dealing with financial investments and business partnerships.
It serves as a reminder that individuals should verify the authenticity of investment opportunities and thoroughly research the parties involved before parting with their hard-earned money.
