The Supreme Court gave four months time for the construction of the Sutlej Yamuna connectivity canal to the Central Government for reconciliation between Haryana and Punjab. At this time, Attorney General KK Venugopal urged the apex court bench of Justice Arun Mishra, MR Shah, and BR Gavai that the central government was trying to reconcile between the governments of the two states. Therefore, the Central Government should be given three months time for this. After this, the Supreme Court gave four months time to the central government. The Supreme Court asked the Central Government to settle this dispute by conciliation between the two states in this time period.
