New Delhi-based director Nisha Pahuja’s documentary feature ‘Too Kill a Tiger’ has been nominated for the 96th Academy Awards in the Best Documentary Feature category. The announcement of the nominations was made on Tuesday, January 23.
Nisha Pahuja, currently residing in Toronto, directed the film that previously won the Amplify Voice Award for Best Canadian Feature at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival.
The documentary revolves around Ranjit’s struggle for justice, whose daughter was sexually assaulted by three men. ‘Too Kill a Tiger’ depicts Ranjit’s arduous journey to seek justice for his daughter. The film is produced by Cornelius Principe and David Oppenheim.
Silian Murphy, playing the role of Robert Oppenheimer, has secured a nomination for Best Actor. This year, ‘Oppenheimer’ will compete for Best Picture against films such as ‘Killers of the Flower Moon,’ ‘Barbie,’ ‘The Holdovers,’ and others at the Academy Awards.”
