Cheruveettil embarked on her adventure from Surke, Nepal, on 15 February, reaching the South Base Camp on 23 February. Unlike seasoned trekkers who undergo rigorous training, she relied on self-learning, discipline, and sheer willpower to accomplish this feat.

Her journey wasn’t just about reaching the base camp; it was about breaking stereotypes, proving that neither age nor profession can limit one’s dreams.

Training Through YouTube & Daily Walks

Determined to achieve her goal, Cheruveettil spent four months training, despite scepticism from friends and family. Her preparation included:

  • Three-hour daily walks
  • Practising in trekking boots
  • Covering 5–6 km every evening

She even took the extra step of learning Hindi to communicate better along the route and watched YouTube tutorials to familiarize herself with trekking techniques.

A Story That Inspires

In an era where social media is flooded with adventure goals, Cheruveettil’s journey is a refreshing reminder that determination outweighs experience. She didn’t have professional guidance, sponsors, or years of trekking expertise—but she had the heart of an explorer.

Her achievement is a call to all travel enthusiasts and dreamers—if she can do it, so can you! 🌍⛰️
