All Six Wrestlers Of The Senior Indian Wrestling Team For The Birmingham Commonwealth Games From Haryana.

Haryanvi dominated the trials of the senior Indian wrestling team for the Commonwealth Games. After Girls, Boys also raised flags. All the six wrestlers selected for the competition are from Haryana. Trials were taken at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in Delhi for the Commonwealth Games to be held in Birmingham, England. After the Olympics, the trio of Ravi Dahiya, Bajrang Punia and Deepak Poonia will now show their strength in the Commonwealth Games.

The players of the state have made their own identity in wrestling. The wrestlers of the state always dominate in international level competitions. The young wrestlers of the state are shining their name on the international stage.

Among the wrestlers selected for the Commonwealth Games, Ravi Dahiya of Nahari Sonepat in 57 kg weight category, originally from Jhajjar in 65 kg weight category, currently Bajrang Poonia of Model Town Sonepat, Naveen of Pugathala in 74 kg weight category, Jhajjar in 86 kg weight category. Deepak Poonia of Chhara village, Deepak of Nindana village of Rohtak in 97 kg weight category and Mohit of Bamla village of Hisar in 125 kg weight category.

Vinod Tomar, assistant secretary of the Indian Wrestling Association, told that the competition will be held in Birmingham, England from July 28 to August 8. In the trial process, the wrestlers of Haryana showed their strength and in all the six weight categories, only Haryanvi were selected. Brij Bhushan Sharan, president of the Wrestling Association of India, said that there was complete transparency in the trial process. Only the best performing wrestlers were selected.

There is an atmosphere of happiness in the Targhubir Akhara in Raipur on the selection of Naveen Pugathala. Trainer Balwan Khatri told that Naveen has made excellent preparations for the competition. He will surely illuminate the name of the country and the state.
