Farmers stage protest in support of wrestlers in Fatehabad, Haryana

Farmers staged a protest at the mini-secretariat in Fatehabad, Haryana on Wednesday in support of wrestlers. The protest was organized by the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) Kheti Bachao Haryana. Farmers raised slogans in support of wrestlers and sent a memorandum to the President.

The protesting farmers said that the athletes who bring fame to the country at the international level are being forced to sit on protests for justice today. They said that it is very regrettable. They also said that after the Supreme Court intervened, the case against the President of the Indian Wrestling Association and BJP MP, Brijbhushan Sharan Singh, has been registered but he has not been arrested yet. They demanded justice for the wrestlers.

The leaders of the farmers’ organization demonstrated here and handed over a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner (DC) addressed to the President. Meanwhile, in the evening, farmers and villagers also burnt effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP MP Brijbhushan Sharan Singh at Dhani Gopal Chowk in Fatehabad and expressed their anger.
