It has come to news that India’s most wanted gangster Vikas Lagarpuria was brought to India from Dubai late on Wednesday (December 14). He landed at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. The tug-of-war between the Delhi Police and the Haryana Police continued till the morning of Thursday (December 15) regarding his custody. Eventually, the Haryana Police got custody.
Many cases are registered against Vikas Lagarpuria in Delhi and Haryana. He is the main accused in the theft of several crores of cash from a flat near Kherki Daula toll in Gurugram, while many criminal cases are registered against him in Delhi as well. He fled to Dubai to escape punishment in India.
Ran On Fake Passport
The accused had fled to Dubai with a fake passport, due to which he was caught at the airport itself. According to the information, he had gotten a fake passport made from Haryana. The Special Cell of Delhi Police had issued a lookout circular for Vikas Lagarpuria.
Was Absconding For 7 Years
According to the police, dozens of criminal cases are registered against Vikas Lagarpuria in Delhi. He was absconding for the last 7 years and during this time he had reached Dubai. In the case of the theft of crores of rupees in Gurugram in 2021, the name Vikas Lagarpuria came to the fore. A case was also registered against him under MCOCA. In this case of theft, an ASI of the Special Cell of Delhi Police was also arrested, who was arrested by Gurugram Police.
Vikas is A Resident Of Bahadurgarh
Vikas is a resident of Lagarpur village located in Bahadurgarh of Jhajjar district of Haryana. When he became famous in the world of crime, his name was Vikas Lagarpuria. According to the police, he attended Ramlal Anand College and was a Delhi University student majoring in history (honors). Because he failed in college, he left his studies and entered the world of crime. Staying with Dhirpala Kana, he had become a famous criminal in Delhi-NCR.
The individuals, according to police, gained “notoriety” in the neighborhood through a slew of crimes including murder, attempted murder, robbery, carjacking, and extortion. They were detained once more since cases against them had been filed in Delhi and Haryana, but bail was shortly granted. Police reported that he has between 18 and 25 associates in various states, some of whom are gang members and others who aid in evading capture.
“In 2015, he and his associates fired at Aggarwal Sweets shop in Dwarka to extort money from the owner. They also threatened rich businessmen. He had 16 cases registered against him at that time,” the police said. The Delhi Police Special Staff then took him into custody.
Two Gang Shooters Were Arrested in May
Earlier in May, the Special Cell of Delhi Police had arrested two shooters of the Vikas Lagarpuria gang, Chetan Mann alias Boxer and Dhirpal. Two pistols and four cartridges were recovered from them. Delhi Police had said that both were plotting to carry out a major incident in South Delhi. According to the police, Dhirpal had come out on parole in a murder case and had absconded.
