Tarun Gehlawat, originally from Sonipat, Haryana, had initially aimed to secure admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT). However, his journey took an extraordinary turn when he applied online for a cyber security role at Google. After a rigorous selection process, Tarun underwent six months of intensive training, emerging at the top with a score of 98,000 out of 100,000, outshining even international competitors.
Tarun’s path to success began with his schooling at National Public School in North West Delhi. A tech enthusiast since childhood, Tarun honed his skills in computer programming and cyber security, which led to his remarkable achievement.
Unmatched Skills and Training
Tarun’s expertise in decoding cyber attacks within a mere 90 minutes has set him apart as a leading talent in the field. His journey to Google began in 2021 when he received an invitation to participate in the Google Intern Recruitment Test. Excelling in this global competition, Tarun secured the 332nd rank worldwide, paving his way to becoming a cyber security expert.
Academic and Professional Milestones
Having recently completed his 12th board exams, Tarun is set to join Google’s headquarters in California, USA. Despite his young age, his exceptional skills earned him the opportunity to train as a cyber security analyst, leading to his current role. Until he officially joins the team in California, Tarun has been contributing to Google’s cyber security efforts remotely, demonstrating his dedication and expertise.

Tarun’s father, Prominder Gehlawat, who works as a Maintenance Manager at Vision RX Lab in Gurugram, has been a significant influence in his journey. Recognizing Tarun’s interest in technology, the family provided him with a computer and enrolled him in a school with a robust computer lab. This early exposure to technology laid the foundation for his future success.
