In a startling revelation, the youth president of the Bhartiya Kisan Union, Vikram Kasana, has exposed a massive scam in Haryana involving a ‘Fake Farmer Portal.’ The scam has come to light amidst the government’s efforts to facilitate the purchase of paddy in the state.
The fraudulent scheme involves the creation of fake farmer registrations on the portal, posing as genuine farmers engaged in farming activities. These bogus registrations have been made to facilitate the purchase of paddy at lower rates from states like Uttar Pradesh and Bihar and supply it to Haryana cities.
The perpetrators behind this scam offer fake farmers commissions ranging from ₹300 to ₹500 per quintal of paddy. Other individuals are also drawn into this scheme, all at the expense of the hardworking farmers in Haryana.
This incident is not the first of its kind, as a similar scam involving fake gate passes was exposed earlier. Farmers have raised concerns over the misuse of their personal information, including names and mobile numbers, on the portal. Attempts to rectify these inaccuracies have often been met with obstacles, as OTPs are sent to the fake farmers, making resolution challenging.
The government must address this issue promptly to protect the interests of genuine farmers in Haryana and maintain the integrity of agricultural transactions in the state.
