Haryana Panchayat Election: Panchayat elections will be possible after Diwali

haryana news

Elections to Panchayati Raj Institutions will now be possible only after Diwali. In the midst of the ongoing wardbandi work for reservation for Backward Class-A in Panchayats, Zilla Parishads and Block Committees, the Development and Panchayat Department has issued a draft of the Haryana Panchayati Raj Election (Amendment) Act, seeking objections and suggestions from stakeholders in 10 days.

After this, due to administrative reasons, the work of wardbandi had to be stopped for a week. Now instructions have been given to complete the work of reservation of wards next week. After the completion of the wardbandi work at the district level, a list of reserved wards at the state level will be prepared and given to the State Election Commission.

According to the sources of the Election Commission, even if the state government sends a written letter to conduct the elections by September 25, the elections to Panchayati Raj Institutions will be held only after October 24. However, State Election Commissioner Dhanpat Singh has said that the preparations of the commission are complete. The election schedule will be released soon after the recommendation of the government is received. However, nothing can be said about the election dates yet.
