Haryana students will get a reservation in admission to Sonipat Sports University

The Haryana Government had passed the Sports University Bill-2019 in the House in the month of August. After this, cricketer Kapil Dev was appointed as the Chancellor in September 2019. But, the President returned it objecting to several provisions of the Bill.

According to the report, by making changes, the government will bring the Sports Bill afresh in the assembly. Which will be passed after discussion. On 19 March 2021, the government brought this bill to the assembly for passage. The bill could not be passed due to several objections from the opposition party Congress.

On which the government sent it to the select committee. The committee has suggested to the government after three meetings that the Chancellor of the Sports University will be none other than the Governor of the state. The governor will no longer be a visitor. The word visitor itself will be omitted from the Bill. In place of visitor, the word Chancellor shall be included.
