In a continuation of the trend to extend popular and successful film stories into franchises, the 2004 hit film Masti is gearing up for its fourth installment. Following the success of Masti, Grand Masti, and Great Grand Masti over the past two decades, the producers have now initiated work on Masti 4.
The direction and screenplay for Masti 4 will be in the capable hands of filmmaker Milap Zaveri. While the previous three films were directed by Indra Kumar, the producer, Ashok Thakeria, remains associated with the film in his producing role.
Pre-production work has already commenced for this comedy film, which aims to break away from the sex comedy genre and bring back the humor reminiscent of the original Masti.
The trio of actors, Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi, and Aftab Shivdasani, who played pivotal roles in the earlier films, are set to reprise their characters in Masti 4. However, casting decisions for the female leads are yet to be finalized.
The pre-production phase has begun, and an official announcement about the cast is expected soon. The film is slated to go into production shortly after, continuing the legacy of the successful “Masti” franchise. Stay tuned for more updates on this upcoming Bollywood comedy.
