Bollywood music director Pritam Chakraborty has filed an FIR at Malad police station after Rs 40 lakh was stolen from his Mumbai office. The main suspect, 32-year-old Ashish Sayal, is on the run, and Mumbai police are searching for him.
Theft at Music Director Pritam’s Goregaon Studio
The incident happened at Unimus Record Pvt. Ltd, Pritam’s studio in Goregaon, on February 4 around 2:00 PM. His manager, Vineet Chedda, received a Rs 40 lakh cash delivery from a production house and kept it in a trolley bag at the studio. He then stepped out to Pritam’s residence in the same building to get documents signed.

When Vineet returned, the trolley bag with cash was missing. Staff members in the studio said Ashish Sayal took the bag, claiming he was shifting it to Pritam’s house. However, the money never reached its destination.
Police Investigation in Progress
Following the complaint at Malad police station, the Mumbai police have formed teams to find Ashish Sayal, who is missing since the theft. Ahmed Khan and Kamal Disha, who were also in the studio, are being questioned for more details.
Who is Pritam?
Pritam Chakraborty is a famous Bollywood music composer from Kolkata. He studied Sound Engineering at FTII and made his debut as a co-composer in the 2001 film Tere Liye. His big break came with Dhoom (2004), where the title track became a massive hit and won the Zee Cine Award for Best Track of the Year.
Pritam is one of Bollywood’s top music directors with hit songs from films like Barfi!, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Jab We Met, and Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
