Nafe Singh Rathee, the INLD leader and former MLA of Haryana, was shot dead in Bahadurgarh, Jhajjar district. The assailants targeted Rathee while he was traveling in his SUV.
This incident follows a series of controversies that began in January 2023 when Rathee and five others were accused of abetting the suicide of a local BJP leader, Jagdish Numberdar, son of former minister Mange Ram Numberdar.
The FIR, filed based on the deceased’s son’s complaint, was vehemently criticized by senior INLD leader Abhay Singh Chautala as a political conspiracy.
