The President said that Lokmanya Tilak Vivekananda and Mahatma Gandhi moved ahead from the ideals of the Gita. Shrimad Bhagavad Gita is a book of encouragement and life-building. Declared it a good fortune to start the journey from Kurukshetra to Haryana.
He said that I am fortunate that I got to visit Haryana for the first time from this land. Those who live in Kurukshetra really live in heaven. Vedas and Puranas have been written in this area on the banks of river Saraswati. It is a matter of great pleasure that the Manohar Lal Government of Haryana has decided to celebrate Gita Jayanti Mahotsav at the international level from the year 2016.
He is very happy that people not only from the country but also from abroad have come for this grand event. Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, Chief Minister Manohar Lal, Ambassador of Nepal Dr. Shankar Prasad Sharma and Swami Gyananand and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
