Anju of village Khudana in the Mahendragarh sub-division of Haryana has become the youngest sarpanch in the state. Villagers of Khudana village with a population of 10 thousand have handed over the crown of Chaudhar of the village to Anju, the daughter of 21 years one month, and 18 days. Earlier, Fatehabad resident Shivani Pathak became sarpanch at the age of 21 years, two months, and two days, but Anju created history by becoming sarpanch at a young age. Apart from this, for the first time in village Khudana, the daughter has become sarpanch.
Presently I am a student in BAMS 1st year. Dr. Naresh Singh Tanwar’s daughter Anju has defeated her rival female candidate by 244 votes. Since ancient times, this village holds a special place in the district. Surrounded by hills on three sides, this village plays an important role in every assembly election.
Anju’s father Dr. Naresh told that the daughters have made the district proud from time to time on the basis of their talent. He will remain indebted to the honor and respect were given by the villagers. Making the daughter the sarpanch of the village will now become an example for the daughters of the state.
Efforts will be made to live up to the trust expressed by the villagers. At present basic facilities are not available according to the population of the village. The biggest problem is drinking water, sanitation, unpaved streets, no sewerage, poor health services, no drainage of contaminated water etc. At the same time, sports, education, health services are poor. Work on electricity, water, education, health, sports etc. will be done in a planned manner on priority. – Anju, Sarpanch village Khudana.
