Haryana’s Election Commission is spurring youth involvement in elections with a novel initiative. They’re offering special incentives to individuals aged 18 and above who register as new voters. The goal is to inspire young citizens to vote and become responsible members of society. As a token of appreciation, all newly registered voters will receive a T-shirt.

Mr. Agarwal, Haryana’s Chief Electoral Officer, announced that registrations for new voters will be accepted from October 1 to December 9. Then, on January 5, 2024, a digital lucky draw will determine the winners. Prizes include laptops, smartphones, and pen drives, with three laptops, two smartphones, and a hundred pen drives up for grabs. Additionally, all young voters who register will receive a complimentary T-shirt.

The Chief Electoral Officer urged eligible young residents to participate, register, and actively engage in the democratic process. To boost registration numbers, the Election Commission will conduct special campaigns on November 4-5 and December 2-3 at polling centers.
