In a significant Haryana political development, around 50 leaders from BJP, JJP, and INLD switched to the Congress, including councillors, village heads, and key figures. The leaders, once associated with ruling parties, visited the official residence of opposition leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda. Pradesh Congress Committee President Uday Bhan welcomed the new members.
Hooda expressed optimism, stating that as elections approach, Congress is steadily gaining strength. Uday Bhan noted the visible impact of growing public support for Congress in the state’s political landscape, predicting a political tsunami by election time.
Among the BJP leaders joining Congress were Hisar’s Ashish Godara, Yamunanagar’s two-time councillor Neeraj Rana, Karnal’s Rajkishan, Dharuhera’s Vikramjeet Singh, Hisar’s former councillor Praveen Kumar, Yamunanagar’s former Farmers’ Union president Ranbir Kajal, and block committee members Pradeep Banival, Sukhram Pal, Sombeer Prajapat Gadwali, Sarpanch Sadhuram, Ramdhan, Hardeep, Pavan Dhanda, Mevasingh, Deepak, former Sarpanch Ranbir, and Vijay Krishna (Vice President Bhim Army, Haryana).
Others who joined included Jitoo Singh (Former District Vice President, Bhim Army, Faridabad) and Anil Kumar (District Secretary, Bhim Army). Notably, Samundar Singh, a BJP-associated soldier from Julana, and numberdars Balmat and Baljeet also switched allegiance to Congress.
This mass defection signifies a noteworthy shift in Haryana’s political landscape, with Congress gaining momentum ahead of the upcoming elections.
