Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi listened to the views of all the leaders and sought suggestions to strengthen the party. Some leaders called upon the leadership to take quick decisions to improve the organization in the state.
In the meeting, Kuldeep Bishnoi said that on handing over the command to Bhajan Lal, the party had got more than sixty seats in Haryana. Therefore, a non-Jat should be made a face in Haryana. As soon as his words were fulfilled, MP Deepender Hooda said that why did not so many seats come when a separate party was formed in the name of Bhajan Lal. Deepender said that the result should be drawn on the basis of merit. 36 The fraternity should be taken along. Seeing the matter increasing, Surjewala pacified both of them.
In separate discussions with Rahul, the supporters of the former CM demanded Bhupendra Hooda to give the command and free hand of the organization. Some leaders sought for themselves the chief post and great responsibility in the party. A big leader said that Hooda should remain omnipotent in the party, he has no objection but OBCs should get equal participation in the organization with due respect.
