KGF 2 Box Office Estimate Day 1: Collects Rs. 50 crores in Hindi; Yash defeats Baahubali 2 to become another pan India sensation

As expected, KGF 2 has embarked on a record breaking start at the box office in Hindi belts. According to early estimates the movie has collected in the range of Rs. 48.50 to 51.50 crores on the opening day. It is just flirting with the biggest opener of all time in Hindi market – War – the Hindi version of which had collected Rs. 53.35 crore.

KGF 2 has the chance of surpassing War to emerge the biggest opener of all time in the Hindi markets, and we would have a clearer picture once we have the numbers from smaller centres, which were literally running to full capacity on the opening day. KGF 2 is challenging the opening day figure of a mega budget actioner with two action stars – Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff- despite having minimal showcasing in the Southern Belts.

Places like Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala have gone ahead with optimum showcasing for the respective regional versions. In an apple to apple comparison, KGF 2 has surpassed the opening day biz of War in all the territories – be it a major center like Mumbai and Delhi or a massy belt like C.P, C.I. If at all if it falls short by a couple of crores, it would be due to a no show in Southern belts.

With KGF 2, Yash has become another Pan India sensation joining the likes of Prabhas and Allu Arjun. These are simply historic numbers with record breaking collections in most of the core Hindi circuits. The talk is positive which means the movie will top Rs. 160 to 175 crores through its run in the extended weekend. The advances for tomorrow are strong, which means another record breaking day on cards in the Hindi belts. Much like Baahubali 2, the Hindi version is proving to be the biggest contributor for KGF 2.

Talking of Baahubali 2, KGF has surpassed the opening day collections of Baahubali 2 by a big margin to emerge the biggest openers among all the Southern films dubbed in Hindi.
