Panchayat elections in Haryana will be held in the month of September itself. Preparations are underway to hold elections between September 15 and 30. An election announcement is possible next week. The State Election Commission is busy in its preparations. The state government has also indicated this, as well as asked not to pay attention to the rumors of hanging elections.
The Backward Classes Commission constituted under the chairmanship of retired Justice Darshan Singh will soon start the hearing for the reservation of BC-A. A matter related to Panchayat elections is pending in the Supreme Court. In this, the government is yet to give its answer. Rumors were being spread in the state regarding this matter that elections could be postponed, but Panchayat and Development Minister Devendra Babli made it clear on Friday that elections would be held only in the month of September. This has brought a sigh of relief to the people involved in the preparations for the Panchayat elections.
On the instructions of the State Election Commission, the final publication of voter lists has been done on 22 July 2022. The commission issued instructions to the DC to complete the preparations for the elections one and a half months ago. The commission has also decided that the elections of Zilla Parishad, Block Samiti, Sarpanch and Panch will be held in a single phase.
Elections will not be held in two phases. The election of Zilla Parishad and Block Committee will be held on one day and after that, the election of Sarpanch and Panch will be held a day later. The staff and policemen posted at the election centers will leave their stations only after the polling for the four posts is over. Secretary, State Election Commission, Dr. Inderjit Singh said that no date has been fixed for the announcement of the Panchayati Raj elections.
