Parineeti Chopra recently took a trip down memory lane, and her story is nothing short of a Bollywood-style contrast. From celebrating birthdays with just one piece of rasgulla to flying business class to Kenya for vacations, her childhood was a tale of two worlds.
The Birthday Ritual: A Single Rasgulla! 🍮
Growing up in Ambala, Parineeti’s birthdays were simple yet heartwarming. Her father would go to the market and buy just one piece of rasgulla or rasmalai—not a kilo, just one! That single sweet would be cut like a birthday cake, and that was the celebration.
This simplicity feels refreshing and deeply emotional in a world where lavish birthday parties are the norm. “My dad used to buy only one piece of rasgulla or rasmalai, and we used to cut that as our birthday cake,” she recalled with a smile.

Parineeti Chopra’s Birthday Contrast
While her birthdays were minimal, her vacations were the exact opposite! Parineeti revealed that her maternal grandparents in Kenya were extremely affluent. Every summer, she and her brother would receive business-class tickets to visit them.
“I used to go from Ambala, where we had almost nothing, and then I would live this luxurious life in Kenya for two months every year,” she shared. From humble surroundings to experiencing luxurious vacations, her life was a rollercoaster of contrasting experiences.
