Preneet Kaur said on Saturday that whatever decision Congress wants to take, it is welcome. However, Kaur said she always gave her best to the party. Preneet Kaur’s comment comes a day after she was suspended by Congress. The show cause notice issued to Kaur has also asked her to explain why she should not be expelled for anti-party activities. Preneet Kaur is the wife of former Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh, who switched over from the Congress to the BJP.
Kaur, MP from Patiala, said on Twitter on Saturday that whatever decision the Congress wants to take, it is welcome. I have always given my best to the party and the people, who have elected me time and again. He said that I am grateful to the people and will continue to serve them like always. I get my strength from my people. Everything else is secondary.
Preneet Kaur suspended from the party
The Congress on Friday suspended Lok Sabha member Preneet Kaur from the party on charges of anti-party activities and issued a show-cause notice asking why she should not be expelled. The letter, issued by Tariq Anwar, member secretary of the Disciplinary Action Committee, said that Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President Amarinder Singh Raja Wading had complained that Kaur was indulging in anti-party activities to help the BJP. It also said that several other senior leaders of the party had also made similar complaints.
