All you need to know about ‘Surya Stambh’ installed in Ayodhya ahead of Ram Mandir inauguration

Ayodhya is set for the historic opening of the Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir on January 24, 2024, post the consecration of the Ram Lalla idol. The recently unveiled ‘Surya Stambh’ on Dharma Path is becoming a focal point, capturing attention since December 9.

These 6-foot high and 5-foot in diameter pillars, adorned with 10 mm glass lights, stretch 2 km along the Dharma Path, sharing Ayodhya’s cultural history and connecting visually with the Ram Mandir.

Symbolizing strength and devotion, the Surya Stambh is rooted in Hindu tradition, where the Sun is revered as a life-giving deity. Ayodhya’s special connection as the city of Lord Ram, a Suryavanshi, adds significance.

The Surya Stambh, marking victory and sovereignty in history, also plays a role in Ayodhya’s development as a Sun City. As the Ram Mandir inauguration approaches, a week-long consecration ceremony begins on January 17, showcasing updates on the new Ram Lalla idol on X (formerly Twitter).

The Surya Stambh not only enhances Ayodhya’s visual appeal but also serves as a spiritual guide, leading devotees on a symbolic path toward the divine presence of Lord Surya. As the nation awaits this historic moment, Ayodhya stands as a blend of history, culture, and spirituality.
