The attack occurred this evening, as confirmed by Vishesh Mahajan, District Magistrate of Reasi. “Nine pilgrims have died and 33 are injured,” he stated in an interview with NDTV. Senior Superintendent of Police Mohita Sharma of Reasi provided further details, explaining that initial reports indicated the terrorists targeted the passenger bus specifically. “Due to the firing, the bus driver lost balance and the bus fell into the gorge.

Thirty-three people were injured in the incident. The rescue operation has been completed, and the identities of the passengers are still being confirmed. They are not locals. The Shiv Khori shrine was secured, and area domination was done,” she told ANI.

Visual evidence from the scene depicted a grim picture, with bodies scattered along the hillside and the bus severely damaged. Residents played a crucial role in the immediate rescue efforts, assisting the authorities and lining up ambulances for the injured.
