Haryana Budget 2024-25: Boosting Health, Education, and Prosperity

The Haryana government has announced its budget for 2024-25, with a special focus on health, education, and prosperity. Chief Minister Shri Manohar Lal has unveiled the budget proposal, which includes several important initiatives and proposals.

Healthcare: Towards Better Health

The budget prioritizes healthcare. A total of ₹9,579.16 crore has been allocated for health and medical education for the fiscal year 2024-25, which is 23.89% higher than the previous year’s estimate.

This includes the establishment of 500 health and wellness centers and approval for new hospitals, including 100-bed hospitals in Hisar, Rohtak, Ambala, and Sonepat, as well as a 30-bed hospital in Karnal.

Empowering Women: Giving Strength to Women

The budget also focuses on the prosperity and empowerment of women. The government has proposed to provide training to 5,000 sisters from 500 women self-help groups for drone operation and maintenance.

Additionally, under the Haryana State Rural Livelihood Mission, there’s a proposal to bring two lakh women to a high-income level and make them ‘lakhpati didis’ (rich sisters).

Education and Employment: New Opportunities for Youth

A new scheme has been launched to provide higher education to the daughters of construction workers and to guide them towards employment. Under this scheme, they will be provided with an e-rickshaw electric scooter or financial assistance. Furthermore, the proposal to increase the grant amount to the families of soldiers martyred in war to ₹1 crore has been made.

Industry and Development: Towards New Horizons

The budget also pays special attention to the industrial sector. A budget of ₹922.98 crore has been allocated for the industrial sector, which is 16.27% higher than the previous year’s estimate. Additionally, a startup fund of ₹10 crore has been established to promote drone manufacturing.

The 2024-25 budget of the Haryana government is filled with determination, with a focus on health, education, women’s prosperity, and industrial development. This budget signals a new direction towards the development and progress of the state.
