According to Flag Code 2002, the tricolor could be hoisted only during the day and was to be taken down in the evening. But, according to the amendment made in it, now the tricolor can be hoisted even at night. This amendment has been made in the Flag Code of India 2002 on 20 July 2022.

Who can put the tricolor on their vehicles?

It includes the President, Prime Minister, Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Cabinet Minister, MP, MLA, Judge of the Supreme Court and High Court, Speaker and Deputy Speaker of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, Speakers of Legislative Assemblies and Legislative Councils, and The Vice President and Indian officers of the High Commission abroad or equivalent can put the flag on their vehicle.

4. The flag should not be intentionally allowed to touch the ground and be submerged by water.
5. The flag should not be used to cover vehicles, trains, aircraft, and boats.
