What Happened on the Last Day of ‘Kalavaibhavam’ Festival in Tirupati?

The three-day extravaganza of South Indian Music and Dance, ‘Kalavaibhavam,’ culminated in a spectacular finale at the Mahati auditorium in Tirupati on Friday. Hosted by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Sri Venkateswara College of Music and Dance (SVCMD), the event witnessed an impressive participation of artists and music enthusiasts from across the five southern states.

Distinguished participants from renowned institutions such as the Central University of Tamil Nadu (Tiruvarur), Annamalai University (Chidambaram), J. Jayalalitha Music and Fine Arts University (Chennai), Madras University (Chennai), and Kannada University (Hampi) added to the cultural richness of the festival.

Alongside, students and scholars from local institutions like Sri Venkateswara, Sri Padmavati Mahila, and National Sanskrit universities in Tirupati showcased their talents, highlighting the region’s vibrant cultural heritage.

The audience was treated to mesmerizing performances, including a captivating dance ballet titled ‘Srikrishna Leela Vilasam’ by SVCMD students and a spellbinding Kuchipudi ballet named ‘Sri Rama Kathasaram’ by disciples of Prof. Pasumarthi Ramalinga Sastry.

The instrumental rendition by students from the Central University of Tamil Nadu further enchanted the spectators, leaving them in awe of the artistic prowess on display.

The presence of esteemed guests, Central Sangeetha Natak awardees ‘Padmasri’ Yella Venkateswara Rao and Pasumarthi Ramalinga Sastry, added prestige to the event. Their participation, along with the acknowledgment from the dean of Central University, Hyderabad, elevated the festival to greater heights, celebrating the cultural legacy of South India.

The closing ceremony was graced by dignitaries including TTD chief accounts officer K.S.A. Sesha Sailendra, educational officer M. Bhaskar Reddy, and SVCMD principal M. Uma Muddubala, who extended their appreciation to all participants and organizers for making ‘Kalavaibhavam’ a resounding success.
