The Meteorological Department warned of heavy rain in Punjab and Haryana on Wednesday. An orange alert has been issued in 12 districts of Punjab and 11 districts of Haryana. However, there has been a partial increase in the day’s maximum and night’s minimum temperature due to non-rainfall in both states.
The 11 districts of Haryana that have been warned of heavy rain include Jind, Mahendragarh, Rewari, Jhajjar, Gurugram, Mewat, Palwal, Faridabad, Rohtak, Sonipat and Panipat. A yellow alert has been issued by the department for other districts.
Light rain showers occurred at some places in Haryana on Tuesday. Badra remained rough in Punjab and Haryana on Tuesday. Haryana received 0.7 mm of rain, which is 85 per cent less than normal as against 4.4.
