    Sidhu Moosewala has been involved in many controversies regarding his songs.

    Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala was gunned down in Mansa on Sunday. Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang has taken responsibility of the murder. The singer’s full name is Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, born on June 11, 1993, in Mansa’s village Moosewala, to an ex-serviceman. Shubhdeep made a mark as a Punjabi singer, rapper, lyricist and actor associated with Punjabi cinema.

    Moosewala, who started his career by writing the song “Ninja License”, was embroiled in many controversies regarding his songs. Electrical Engineer Shubhdeep started his career as a singer with the song “G Wagon”.

    Moosewala has been accused of promoting gun culture in songs from the beginning. He joined the Congress on 3 December 2021 before the Punjab elections. Contested by Mansa and after losing, he came into the limelight for the use of the word ‘traitor’ in his song. Aam Aadmi Party surrounded him on this song.

    In 2020, the video of Moosewala firing at the shooting range of Punjab Police went viral. There was a case against him for violating the Corona lockdown. In the viral video, Sidhu Musewala was showing a gun. He was also seen taking training with an AK-47 rifle. A police officer was also seen in the video. In this case, the DSP headquarters was suspended and a case was registered against five policemen.

    In 2020 itself, during the shooting of the song Pakhiyaan-2, he was accused of instigating the youth. Along with Sidhu, a case was registered against five including singer Mankirat Aulakh.

    Questions were also raised on Sanju’s song comparing Moosewala with Sanjay Dutt. The lyrics of his song were ‘Jatt te vi ohi ke jehra Sanjay Dutt te’. Olympian shooter Avneet Kaur Sidhu also criticized her for calling the FIR registered against her a ‘badge of honour’ in this song. An FIR was also registered against Musewala in the matter. The matter reached the Punjab and Haryana High Court. In December 2020, Moosewala created controversy by releasing another song ‘Punjab’ glorifying Khalistan supporter Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale.
