Do you know that the Department of Arts and Cultural Affairs has been established for the promotion and development of performing arts, visual arts, plastic arts and all crafts of the state? If you don’t know, so read it or share it with your ‘s artist friend।
This Department has been organizing workshops/camps on various art forms of the State such as dance, drama, paintings, photography, graphics, sculpture, music etc. and folk festivals on various occasions such as Teej, Haryana Day, Geeta Jayanti etc. Department also organizes classical and folk music dance, drama and other variety programmes from time to time and makes concerted efforts to arrange cultural shows on national festivals.
It also arranges cultural programmes of International cultural troupes in collaboration with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations and Festival of India. Zonal Cultural Centres were established by the Government of India in November 1986 and Haryana State is a member of two Zonal Cultural Centres, i.e. North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala and North Central Zone Cultural Centre, Allahabad.
Scholarships are given to the students of the Haryana domicile to get training in various Institutions of art and culture. Annual State Level Award to eminent artists is also given every year on the occasion of Haryana Day.
