Amidst the intensity of Lok Sabha elections, a significant political upheaval is unfolding in Haryana. Following the dissolution of the JJP alliance with Dushyant Chautala, three independent legislators, who had earlier extended support to the newly formed BJP government, have withdrawn their support.
Last evening, in the presence of Congress state president Uday Bhan and former CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda, these three legislators announced their support for the Congress party.
Challenge to Topple BJP Government
In the midst of this political turbulence, JJP leader Dushyant Chautala has openly challenged Bhupinder Hooda to topple the BJP government in Haryana. He stated that if needed, his party is prepared to collaborate with the Congress. The intensity of the political climate indicates that JJP is aiming to hit two targets with one arrow.
Chautala affirmed that if Hooda is truly not in league with the BJP, then they should bring down the incumbent Manohar Lal Khattar government. Following the backing of the three independent legislators, he asserted that the BJP government is now in the minority. If Congress or Bhupinder Hooda requires the support of JJP’s 10 legislators, they stand fully in solidarity.
Toppling Governments: a Matter of Minutes
According to Chautala, the act of toppling a government is a matter of minutes, not hours or days. He mentioned that Hooda should have submitted a no-confidence motion to the Governor before dusk. However, they have still arrived with the no-confidence proposal before sunrise.
Addressing questions about not having the support of all 10 JJP legislators, Chautala emphasized that party legislators must abide by the party’s decisions. Additionally, he accused Hooda of working at the behest of the BJP.
