Mobile Phone Ban in Kedarnath Temple Premises After Viral Couple Proposing Video

Mobile Phones To Be Banned In Kedarnath Temple

The incident of a couple proposing on the premises of the Kedarnath Temple and filming a video of the act has caused outrage among the Badri Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) and devotees. The BKTC has lodged a complaint with the police, urging them to take strict action against those who were involved in shooting videos within the temple premises. The committee emphasized that such activities hurt religious sentiments and requested measures to prevent their recurrence.

As a consequence of this incident and similar objectionable behavior by public figures, influencers, and YouTubers, a mobile phone ban is expected to be implemented in Kedarnath. The authorities are making arrangements to prohibit the use of cell phones entirely within the temple premises. The ban aims to address concerns over the disrespectful behavior and videos that negatively impact the faith of devotees who visit the sacred temple.

The viral video in question involved a YouTuber named Vishakha who proposed to her boyfriend in front of the Kedarnath Temple and recorded the act for social media. The video’s circulation elicited displeasure from both the public and the temple committee due to the perceived disrespect toward the sentiments of devotees. Such incidents can undermine the spiritual significance of the temple and adversely affect the beliefs of those who hold it sacred.
